Conflict Coaching
Conflict coaching is quickly becoming the alternative to anger management and conflict resolution for individuals. It is an inherently individual approach that borrows from principles of executive coaching, conflict resolution and anger management.

Who can benefit from Conflict Coaching?

  • Individuals who recognize that anger and conflict is inhibiting their growth. Ideal candidates are willing to take responsibility for themselves and their actions and are less interested in placing blame on others.
  • Middle and upper level management who would like to improve emotional intelligence, anger management and conflict resolution skills
  • Any employee who is seeking to enhance interpersonal skills and move their career forward. Those who want to avoid the negative connotations associated with anger management
  • Couples who want to learn conflict resolution strategies that are easy to learn, easy to implement and most of all, tactics that actually work.
  • Divorcing couples who need strategies to co-parent and to resolve ongoing conflict.
  • Single individuals who are seeking strategies to enhance communication and be more successful in interpersonal relationships

What is conflict coaching?
Conflict coaching is a very forward moving coaching process. At Conflict Coaching & Consulting, LLC we conduct three assessments—anger management, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution—which give the client  a comprehensive look at the deficits in conflict management and points them directly to the area(s)  that need development.

This process is nothing like therapy. The focus is on how to move forward and not why the problem exists. Unlike therapy, conflict coaching is brief—some interventions can be completed in one day. The entire intervention is spent learning new skills in conflict resolution, anger management and emotional intelligence.  A key component of conflict coaching is resolving conflict, learning the warning signs and avoiding the emergence of unhealthy conflict.

How does conflict coaching work?
When a client comes to our offices, they are given our assessment and based on the findings of the assessment, we use our conflict coaching workbook to teach skills in the areas of deficit. The coach uses a variety of multimedia and print materials to illustrate and teach the skills necessary. The client will be able to interact with the coach and role play new skills.  At the end, the individual will be given an option of retaking a portion of the assessment to determine what progress has been made. It is recommended that each client complete twelve hours of conflict coaching. For busy individuals this can be done in on weekend. Our program focuses on emotional competence, conflict styles, communication skills, resiliency, managing stress and negotiation.
