The first step in a course of treatment is finding out what is going wrong and why. The      anger management assessment serves this purpose.. See a summary of the our anger management assessment below:
The Anger Management Assessment measures six areas:
Interpersonal Assertion: the level at which an individual is able to express his/her needs appropriately without violating the rights of others.
Interpersonal Aggression:the level at which an individual seeks to control, displays aggression, and discredits the rights, feelings and thoughts of others.
Interpersonal Deference: the level at which an individual is able to self-differentiate; in other words, where an individual can express his/her own feelings and ideas without concern or worry about the conflict differing opinions can create.
Empathy: the ability to sense, accept and respect the feelings of others. This is a key component in anger management, as awareness of the feelings of others often helps individuals seek effective ways to resolve conflict without violating the rights of others.
Stress Management:the ability to recognize and manage stress. Individuals who are able to manage stress tend to be less volatile and better able to manage anger.
Orientation to change:perhaps the most important measure, this indicates the level at which the individual desires to change his/her behavior towards improving anger management. Motivation is key to the success of this anger management program.
